3 Steps to Designing Your Best Life

If you don’t intentionally plan your life you will find that someone else does the planning for you.

You will find that you are just plodding along living up to what other people expect of you.  Blaming others for the way your life is turning out.

Stop hoping to wake up one morning and find that your life has changed.

Get up, get intentional and decide what you want out of your life.

What does your ideal life look like?

In 5, 10 or 20 years from now what do you actually want your life to look like?

Yes, it can be scary to admit what you really want but it can also be the most exciting and liberating thing you can do.

Stop letting fear and other people opinions hold you back.

Step 1 – Own your story

Owning your own story in one of the biggest steps you can take when designing the life you really want, a life that is authentic and true to who you really are.

This means being proud of who you are and your journey.  Every experience you have been through is what has lead you to this point in your life.  

Owning the good, the bad and the ugly is how you learn to see and accept your uniqueness.  There is only one you out there and learning to be proud of this is an important step in creating a life true to who you really are.

Step 2 – Find you why

Finding your why is the step that keeps you going when things get tough.  Life will always provide you with challenges but when you know WHY you are doing something, when you know your purpose it becomes much easier to choose how you face these challenges and keep going.

Why do you do the things you do? Why do you say yes easily to certain things and no to others?

Finding your why ensures you are on the right track and are able to create a life which is true to who you are and what you really want.

Step 3 – Design your life

When creating a life plan you are designing the life you want to live. You are deciding the path you want to take, setting goals and creating a plan on how to achieve this life.

Planning your life is about admitting to yourself what your ideal life looks like and deciding to go for it.  

Sometimes we play it to safe and we don’t admit what we really want because we fear it isn’t possible for us.

We fear we aren’t good enough, smart enough or pretty enough and so we may never admit what we truly want due to fear of failure or fear of not being able to have it all and this holds us back.

So we only plan the things we know are possible and leave the rest to chance.  This is madness, we just go with the flow and hope things will just happen for us.  We act as if we have no control over it and take no responsibility of our results.

We think we are either lucky or unlucky. We tend to believe we can’t have it all and therefore don’t imagine what it all looks like.

This is NOT TRUE.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for your life.

WHAT DO YOU ACTUALLY WANT IN LIFE?

Start taking responsibility for your own life and create a life you love.  You will be glad you did.
